Walker Caught Lying About British Prime Minister

The gentle reader might have noticed by now that Scott Walker is a compulsive liar. Whether its about his record on job creation or dealing with protesters or Saint Ronnie's Bible, Walker simply can't tell the truth.

The worst part is that he's not very good at it and always get caught in his lies.

The latest example is his getting caught lying about British Prime Minister David Cameron:
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says British Prime Minister David Cameron confided in him that he was concerned about the direction of American leadership. But there’s a problem with the Republican’s tidy critique of President Barack Obama: Cameron doesn’t remember it that way.

Walker, who has taken several trips overseas in recent months to study up on foreign policy in preparation for an all-but-certain presidential bid, told a roomful of Republican donors Friday that world leaders, including Cameron, are worried about the U.S. stepping back in the world. “The Prime Minister did not say that and does not think that,” a Downing Street spokesperson told TIME.

“I heard that from David Cameron back in February earlier when we were over at 10 Downing,” Walker said. “I heard it from other leaders around the world. They’re looking around realizing this lead from behind mentality just doesn’t work. It’s just not working.”
Walker would have been better off punting.

I'm personally not surprised that Walker would lie about the British Prime Minister confiding anything to him.

What does surprise me a little is that he didn't say that it was the ghost of Margaret Thatcher telling him this.

  1. All these little road trips ON TAXPAYER DOLLARS are just photo ops for his campaign, cuz he needs stills for the TV ads.

  2. It's not only the mendacity of Walker's lies (seriously, why would you lie about something like this. It's like he can't stop), but to say it before heading to Canada? Canada was legally connected to Britain until 1982, and UK influence in heavy if you've ever been to anywhere in that country.

How is this not completely disqualifying, especially when you're making one of the US's closest allies look bad? Can we have PPP or Marquette Law whip up a poll to see what this sick dope's approval rating is in this state? When it comes back in the 30s, can the state's media stop kissing this guy's backside?

Ah, because British Prime Ministers are so well known for leading their troops from in front? Oddly, even Winston Churchill led from inside the bunker, because that's where the command center was, staff, maps, telephones, radios, and all. He had generals to lead in the field, like Field Marshal Montgomery (for whom my father was a battlefield intelligence analyst) -- just as he had infantrymen to carry rifles -- but neither of those was Churchill's job or any wartime PM's job, nor was it FDR's or Truman's or any other wartime President's job.

Walker shows himself incredibly ignorant if he thinks a President is supposed to lead from in front -- and Walker himself has shown no capacity for doing so, what with running away from his own constituents through the tunnels under his State House!

    1. The only place I would want Walker leading from in front would be on the battle field. Right in front of the ground troops. Or in front of the tanks.
