One hundred and fifty jobs will be cut with the shutdown of a Kenosha County food-processing plant, the factory's owner has told state officials. Not only are we losing 150 existing jobs, we are losing out on what might have been another couple of hundred in one of the areas of the state with the highest rate of unemployment.
Lakeview Farms LLC said it will start eliminating jobs at its plant in Bristol in August and shutter the facility completely next January.
The move comes as the maker of sour cream, dips and gelatins shifts production from Wisconsin to its headquarters city, Delphos, Ohio, about 60 miles north of Dayton.
Lakeview Farms plans to add 200 jobs in Delphos as it expands and invests $12 million there, The Lima News reported earlier this month. The newspaper said the State of Ohio will provide a loan and tax credits to the company in connection with the expansion and expected job creation.
I can't wait to see Scott Walker plug this into one of his commercials.
