Whatever you do, make sure you do NOT miss, the MAIN EVENT!    One day only on Saturday, the moment we have all been waiting for:

In Wisconsin, the party of Abraham Lincoln will be deciding this weekend whether it favors not only the right to secession but also the right to nullify federal laws.
Delegates at the state Republican convention are set to vote Saturday on a proposed resolution that directs lawmakers to push through legislation nullifying Obamacare, Common Core educational standards and "drone usage in the state of Wisconsin."
"Be it further resolved," the proposal concludes, "that we strongly insist our state representatives work to uphold Wisconsin's 10th Amendment rights, and our right to, under extreme circumstances, secede, passing legislation affirming this to the U.S. Federal Government."
Republican officials had confirmed that the so-called "state sovereignty" resolution made it onto the agenda for the convention, which is being held in Milwaukee beginning Friday. But the wording of the actual resolution had not been made public.
No Quarter was able to obtain a copy of the proposal, which offers a full-throated endorsement of the state's right to reject any federal law that it considers excessive.
Under the measure, lawmakers would be urged to push a bill "which would have the effect of nullifying specific federal laws and regulations which are outside the scope of the powers delegated by the People to the federal government in the Constitution."

  1. This all sounds wonderful, but what are they going to do about Zombies, Space Aliens and the Devil? These omissions from the agenda seem highly suspicious to me. What are they hiding?

  4. Secession and nullification are very touchy subjects to Teapublicans, understandably so...
Dan Bice notes Michael Murphy, the state Republican executive committee member, is worried "Democrats could use the resolution to try to tarnish Republican Gov. Scott Walker."

Murphy has said on his Liberty Wisconsin blog that "secession is as American as apple pie." He also admits that "I'm a proponent of nullification."
Bice's column also quotes Charlie Sykes: "This is crackpotism on steroids... We fought a war over this, didn't we?... It didn't work out well for the supporters of nullification and secession."

The libertarian Tea Party movement has in fact revived the these ideas, with Ron Paul being a lead spokesman through the Ludwig von Mises Institute at Auburn University. Watch Paul here:

Paul also has a non-profit called Campaign For Liberty
which produced a message very similar to Murphy's:

I can understand Charlie Sykes needing to protect Scott "I was the original Tea Party in Wisconsin" Walker, but why would his wife, Janet Riordan, a Bradley Foundation community programs director, also tout on her Linked In page (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/janet-riordan/15/5/194) her association with Paul's Campaign For Freedom, as well as Friends of the Mises Institute and Austrian Economics?

    1. No problems here on my puter. 6:29 needs to increase the level of tinfoil protection. Opening at least three windows allows hearing the helicopters before they get too close.

  9. Commodore 64? Please Jeff - I have very modern equipment. Perhaps - you should look at your posts on an iPhone or iPad - huge gaps in your post. Hqve no idea what is there. Your response reflects your immature attitude towards presenting tech savvy post. Obviously you have much to learn. Your excuse last time was ignorance - or way above your pay grade. You need to learn basic blogging skills buddy. You do want to present the best - don't you. I know - Capper will come to defend Jefffy once again.

Haven't anything to say about the topic in the posting? We all read this blog to discuss topics dealing with Wisconsin politics.
I have no technical or thoughtful problem with the content being presented, and could not care less about your computer plight.
If you don't have anything so say, go elsewhere and try to waste somebody else's time.
