Question of the Day

Does anyone else wonder if the sudden and extreme crackdown on the Solidarity Singers is to distract the public's attention to the misdeeds going on at the Penokee iron mine?

I've noticed no one has anything about this since the crackdowns at the Capitol started.

  1. Or the fact that Bulletproof Securities has yet to be ticketed for breaking the law by having unlicensed personnel packing heat at the site.

Also note that nothing has happened to the troll who made death threats against the LCO Camp protestors. Somehow when it comes these actions, IOKIYAR is an acceptable result.

Starting to get sick of the double-standard

  2. Call Marty Lipske DA - up there

  3. People up north expect the same tactics to play out up there with the mine, but with less publicity. (BTW, only one of the four targets of the death threats is truly active in opposing the mine. They've all expressed opposition, to be sure, but three of them aren't prominent voices against it. Yet another reason it's all so stupid yet scary.)

  4. I figured the crackdown was to get publicity for the next political election season. What we consider to be negative action seems to get somebody else to donate money. It seems to be that is how it works. Some rich donor likes this crackdown kind of of stuff, that is my guess.

  5. Scott Walker and his regime are ruining the State of Wisconsin. Watching the footage of the arrests, seeing the "special police" in action and Mike Huebsch watching from the shadows of the second floor reminded me of another place and time: Germany in the 1930s. I can't believe this is happening in the United States of America.

  7. It's a very good question, Capper.

Last news out of the north was that the Harvest Camp was facing issues of permits or over-staying their permitted time, or something like that, from the local county government.

However, there has been no news that I can find about new private security being issued permits.

Or the obvious law that states a certain private security can't operate in Wisconsin for a year, and that GTAC should have been fined per the law.

  8. Anyone know anything about this:

"... Neiwert reported that, "a new set of goons appeared as security for GTAC's President, Bill Williams, in his recent appearances in Wisconsin." They wore "logos of a Patriot/militia organization called the Watchmen of America -- though true to the 'leaderless resistance' model of action these 'Patriots' espouse, the Watchmen's organizational leaders are denying any involvement, while in effect conceding that members may be operating in Wisconsin without their approval."..."

  9. Here are two really good blogs explaining what is happening up there. The comments sections of Woodsperson are especially telling. Share them with your friends on Facebook and everywhere else.

Iron County is operating illegally on these mine matters and the state/nation needs to know.

  10. Here's some more excellent info... Buying off local officials isn't completely explained -- I'd really like to know how GTAC was able to dissolve the oversight committee, and then restore it with only the pro-mining position represented (!?!) -- but it's a revealing look at what's going on in Iron County:
