Unbelievable!

By Jeff Simpson

The last two plus years have been challenging in WI.  We have dropped over 30 slots in job creation all the way down to 44th/50 in job creation.  Our job "creation" agency has burned through millions of dollars of taxpayer money, broken the law, handed out loans to board members, and have no jobs on the books to show for it.   The republican controlled Legislature has not advanced one single jobs bill in three years but have focused their efforts on social engineering.

All of the problems and the help we need in WI and our Governor decides to spend his time writing a letter to the White House trying to advance a non-story.

Directly from Charlie Sykes and WhiteWisconsin.  John Doe himself,  wrote a letter to the President demanding there be an investigation!

Mr. President,

We write to you today disturbed after learning that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has been unfairly targeting and applying added scrutiny to applicants for tax-exempt status based on their conservative beliefs. To be blunt, this is Big Brother come to life and a witch hunt to prevent Americans from exercising their First Amendment rights.

The First Amendment gives Americans the ability to freely express their opinions regardless of their political beliefs. The actions of the IRS are an attempt to gag the voices of Americans who may disagree with the policies and left-leaning ideology of your administration. Quite frankly, this is un-American.

This is a subversion of American liberty and a secret but direct attack against the U.S. Constitution. Immediate action must be taken to ensure this never happens again. Here are two steps that should be taken:

1. Fire any and all employees responsible for this situation.
2. Appoint a Special Prosecutor now to find out if laws were broken and if anyone committed crimes.

The bottom line is that regardless of one’s political beliefs, conservatives and liberals alike must be able to exercise their First Amendment rights without fear that the federal government will abuse them for having differing opinions.

Whats hilarious is that they think the Obama administration is "left leaning".  They are so extreme to the right they do not truly know what "left leaning" looks like.

Apparently we should just leave the hate groups alone, what harm could come of that anyway?

  2. Can we fire Walker for his crap he and his repugs pull on the citizens of Wisconsin...

  3. No one in the Walker administration has ever criticized, ridiculed, or penalized anyone for demonstrating their First Amendment Rights in Wisconsin, the 2011 protests certainly come to mind. Sarcasm times infinity.

  4. Walker has more problems in WI than what's happening in Washington. He hasn't done a damn thing here that has improved this state.

  5. Is this the same Walker whose administration is prosecuting people who come to the Capitol to express their opposition to his policies?

  6. advocate, stuff your sarcasm. This *is* the same Walker who appointed his former chief of security to head the Capitol police. And ever since, it's been a running battle, with dozens and dozens of citations handed out to protesters. For things like leaving doughnut crumbs on a sidewalk, or 'illegal chalk' or standing in the wrong place. It's still going on.

  7. I think it's kind of funny (and telling) that Sykes' idea of immediate action that "must be taken to ensure this never happens again" is to find people to blame *this* time. He wouldn't want to mess up the system too much; the GOP wouldn't be able to do the same damn thing themselves *next* time. In case you haven't heard, it's o.k. -- even, dare I say?, desirable -- if you are Republican. After all, we can't have those Democratic-leaning social welfare groups (unions, for instance) confusing people about what's important (money), who's in charge (the idle rich and their eager lapdogs) and how much power they have to mess things up for everyone else!

    1. Ooops, sorry -- that quote would be from our beloved Governor Walker, not foul right wing blowhard fantasist Charlie Sykes. Sometimes the spin is so overwhelming I lose track of which is which. I'm sure Gov. Walker could teach the IRS a thing or two about how to use the levers of government for partisan political advantage. I hear he's writing a whole book about it, in fact.

  8. Congress needs to investigate why Karl Rove's American Crossroads has a 501(c) group called Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS). It spent $70 million in 2012 for Republican campaigns all with tax-deductible and anonymous donations. Time to close these tax loopholes.
