Whatever happened to the Ass Clown Caucus?

As a new contributor here at Cognitive Dissidence, ( having had a periodic stint or two over at Blogging Blue for a couple of years, and for which I am grateful, ZW ) I thought perhaps my first post should be both relevant and tastefully done, but that's just not my style. So let's get right to the heart of the matter. Whatever happened to the Ass Clown Caucus (ACC)?

Just what in the world, you are probably asking yourself, is the Ass Clown Caucus and why is it relevant? Thanks for asking. I'm happy to explain.

The ACC is a group of GOP, Tea Party aligned state legislators who went on record stating they'd back a bill to arrest any federal officials attempting to implement " Obamacare" in Wisconsin. No shit. But why is it relevant?

Because State Rep. Don Pridemore, (R-Hartford) is both a candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction, AND a founding member of the Ass Clown Caucus, and because none other than conservative smear maestro James Wiggyderson predicted Pridemore's political woes as the result of his positively asinine position. It appears that Wiggy was correct as Pridemore's fundraising numbers are less than impressive.

Perhaps even more relevant, however, is the fact that the Affordable Care Act is to be fully implemented in just ten months. Questions abound. What will the remaining members of the ACC do? Has the ACC disbanded? Have they each come to grips with just how profoundly dumbassed their original position actually was and now gone mute so as to not suffer the kind of enduring public humiliation they so rightly deserve? Hmmmm. Whatever happened to the Ass Clown Caucus?

  1. Steve, thanks. The sooner we can get to Medicare-for-all, the better for small business and consumers. "Single-payer" would foster competition among the groups who really provide value to patients: physicians, hospitals, nurses, allied health professionals, Big Pharma, and medical device makers.

Blue Cross/Wellpoint, Cigna, and the rest of the health insurance oligopoly are simply a tax on consumers. They provide zero value to patients and have proven incapable of holding down health care costs.
