Garbage In, Garbage Out

So, what's for dinner this Thursday at the Tea Party Cafe? How about a big plate o' mush! Intellectual mush, that is.

Self styled " Free Market Warrior " Loren Spivack will be giving his razzle dazzle seminar on economic literacy this week to the Green Bay Tea Party. And Mr. Spivack's credentials when it comes to matters of economics? He has a BS in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, 1984 to 1988. From 1990 to 2002 he was with the UJA Federation of New York, which appears to be a Jewish network for charitable giving, where Mr. Spivack claims to have implemented a successful telegiving program.

From 2003 to 2008 Spivack operated his own marketing and management consulting firm. For the last 4-5 years he's been sole owner of " Free Market Warrior " and even authored a book titled " The Cat and the Mitt ", which is, in my humble estimation, as embarrassing a piece of waaaay suboptimal dreck as is imaginable. Great resume for teaching economics. Outstanding.

Among the gems wafting from the oracle of numbskullery that is Mr. Spivack, paraphrased from his remarks in the video posted below: " If fewer people worked for the department of energy and more people worked for Exxon, gas would be cheaper, " and " the best way to bring down health care costs is to have people pay their own bills. We have too much insurance. " Gotcha' Loren. Why didn't I think of that?! The dismal science, you bet.

So if you're not doing anything Thursday, March 7th, and you haven't had a good belly laugh in a good long time, ( and I mean double-over barely catch your breath while the tears stream down your face belly laugh) head on over to Legends Brewhouse and Eatery in De Pere to hear Loren Spivack rock the house with his own special brand of cranially garbled hilarity.

But if you're looking for a short course in economic literacy, you're probably better off heading over to Barnes and Noble.

  1. Wow. Watching that kills a lot of brain cells quickly.

Here is another Loren Spivak story. Loren does battle with the powerful mall landlord throwing him and his "Free Market Warrior" mall kiosk out on his teabagging azztroturf for selling offensive materials that caused controversy.
