Reince's Resume

Two years ago, in the 2010 national elections, the republican party won EVERYTHING.  They took over the House of Representatives, and numerous state houses and could legitimately be argued it was the greatest year for republican's electorally ever.   Republican National Committee chair, Michael Steele, who oversaw that election, was rewarded for the victory by being stabbed in the back by his friend Reince Priebus.  Priebus instigated a Coup and kicked Steele out and took over the party himself!

It has been two years and now its time for Reince Priebus's review.  We can look back at of his accomplishments and see how they translated electorally.   In charge of his review is Rachel Maddow, let's let her run down Reince's resume:

This really is what cognitive dissonance looks like.  Rachel Maddow puts it all together in 3 minutes.  Nails it.  This is that moment when you realize just how much stuff conservatives have come to believe that has no attachment to reality whatsoever.  From the video:
“Ohio did go to Obama last night.  And he really did win.  And he really was born in Hawaii, and he really is legitimately President of the United States, again, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics did not make up a fake unemployment rate last month, and the Congressional Research Service really can find no evidence that cutting taxes on rich people grows the economy, and the polls were not screwed to oversample Democrats, and Nate Silver was not making up fake projections about the election to make conservatives feel bad, Nate Silver was doing math, and climate change is real, and rape really does cause pregnancy sometimes, and evolution is a thing, and Benghazi was an attack on us, it was not a scandal by us, and nobody is taking away anyone’s guns, and taxes have not gone up, and the deficit is dropping, actually, and Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction, and the moon landing was real, and FEMA is not building concentration camps, and you UN election observers are not taking over Texas, and moderate reforms of the regulations on the insurance industry and the financial services industry in this country are not the same thing as communism.”
Keep up the good work Reince, the Democratic party appreciates all of your hard work!

  1. I almost sent you a post this morning about her using 'cognitive dissonance' in her recent blog post but couldn't find the exact day. I hope she knows about your blog. If not, I will let her know.

  2. Oh hell, does this mean that Priebus gets returned to Wisconsin like a bad check?

  4. He's not necessarily a handy scapegoat. While clearly not more stupid and clueless than the average Wisconsin Romney voter/acolyte, he's clearly out-front and highly visible--easily blamed for the myopia of the multitudes. Let him blab on the Sunday circle-jerk, it will not change the facts: he was the leader of the pack and the whole bunch of them went down the tube. His job is to slink off into oblivion, disappear, leave town, resign from the silk stocking law firm, shut his trap and wander forever in the wilderness. Good riddance to Reince Priebus.

    "Next".

I nominate Wiggy. He's served his time for his malfeasance. Give him a crack at it. Though he clearly has the bombast, he's been laying in the weeds; hasn't make a peep since around 11 pm Tuesday.

  5. Meanwhile the caterpillar is now a butterfly and Reince is evermore the dunce.

  6. Robin Vos managed to slip $1,900,000 of taxpayer money to Reince Priebus's law firm, Michael Best Friedrich, on the redistricting fiasco. What in the world does Reince "have" on Vos, his old college roomie, one might wonder.
