Mitt Was REALLY Thinking Ahead!

We brought you the story the other day of Mitt having his "President Romney transition website" ready to go live.

As is the theme of this blog, there is always more!

Mitt also had a Boston Harbor fireworks show ready to go

Mitt Romney had planned to celebrate his election as the nation’s 45th president with an eight-minute fireworks display over Boston Harbor.

The same company that does some of the illuminations for Boston’s Fourth of July celebration was poised to ignite fireworks within view of Romney’s party at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center to celebrate a win over President Obama.

A permit filed with the City of Boston said the detonation could occur any time between 7 p.m. Tuesday, just after the first polls closed, and 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, which ended up being just before Romney conceded the race.

Instead, Atlas Professional Fireworks Displays unloaded the pyrotechnics from mortars set up on a barge near the Bank of America Pavilion and carted them back to its headquarters in Jaffrey, N.H.

Not ONLY did Mitt know he was going to win, he also knew he would win so handily that the race would be over by midnight EASTERN TIME!  Say it with me:  But Wait There's more!

Meanwhile, officials at Logan International Airport reported Tuesday that their private aviation tarmac was crammed with corporate jets that ferried in campaign supporters en route to the convention center.
The area’s hotels and restaurants also were filled with revelers.

And after a last-minute campaign dash to Ohio and Pennsylvania, Romney told reporters aboard his campaign plane that he had tapped out a victory speech on his iPad. He even enumerated its word count: 1,118.
Mitt Romney is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with Corporate America!  They have no idea whats happening on the street with real people and they live in a little fantasy land bubble.

From NBC news:

In conversations on Wednesday, aides were generally wistful, not angry, at how the campaign ended. Most, like their boss, truly believed the campaign's now almost comically inaccurate models, and that a victory was well within their grasp.

From HuffPO:

As Republicans search for reasons why they came up short in Tuesday's elections, anonymous Mitt Romney advisers have described what it was like to be with the former governor as he came to terms with his loss.

"He was shellshocked," one adviser told CBS News.

Another unnamed senior adviser explained that as returns came in and battleground states went into President Barack Obama's Electoral College column, they felt their paths to potential victory narrowing. CBS reports that the campaign was unprepared for this in part because it had ignored polling that showed the races favoring Obama. Instead, it turned to its own internal "unskewed" polls, which it believed more accurately reflected the situation on the ground. They didn't.
 From CBS:

Romney was stoic as he talked to the president, an aide said, but his wife Ann cried. Running mate Paul Ryan seemed genuinely shocked, the adviser said. Ryan's wife Janna also was shaken and cried softly.

"There's nothing worse than when you think you're going to win, and you don't," said another adviser. "It was like a sucker punch."

Well actually Mr./Ms. Adviser, there is something worse, when you have worked for generations at a local plant in America and your job gets shipped overseas.   Trust me that is way worse, and the equestrian Ann and oil fields Janna got a little taste of that on Tuesday night!

  1. How much of this is just normal though? I mean the wives would cry, even if you knew you had no chance, you would still cry from exhaustion, a release of all the tension? And didn't they have to pretend they would win in order to keep it close? Didn't that end up helping the Democrats get out the vote as well? All the talk about "It's a tie" seems to have helped the Dems. have a high turnout.

The fireworks is certainly over the top. I agree.

  2. Hmmm. Fireworks in honor of election of King Romney and Queen Ann scheduled to explode over Boston Harbor to appease the Tea Party. "Patriots" honoring "Royalty". The irony of the lack of education and idiocy of the Tea Party is understood by all...but the Tea Party and the "royalty" to whom they pledge allegiance.

  3. The entire Romney/Ryan ticket wasn't a campaign, it sold itself just like corporations do. It was a commercial.

  4. Check out Romney's Project Orca. No, it has nothing to do with Sheldon Adelson or Rush Limbaugh.
