Fox was universally criticized for their actions, so they tried to save face. Unfortunately for them, there was no face to save.
Fox News Channel executive vice president Michael Clemente then made the interview rounds to let everyone know that Mr. ricks apologized for how he acted.
The problem with that of course is that Mr. ricks never did apologize, Mr. Clemente was lying!
“When Mr. Ricks ignored the anchor’s question, it became clear that his goal was to bring attention to himself -- and his book," Clemente told THR via email. "He apologized in our offices afterward but doesn’t have the strength of character to do that publicly."
But that's news to Ricks, who told THR in his own email that he never offered an apology to Fox — privately or publicly.
"Please ask Mr. Clemente what the words of my supposed apology were. I'd be interested to know," Ricks said. "Frankly, I don't remember any such apology."
When the VP of Fox News is not scared to tell a bold faced lie why wouldn't everyone on the network do the same?
No wonder our friends on the right wing blargosphere also like to lie....its company policy!
