The Walker Budget Keeps On Working! Part XCCV

I've said it time and time again, but for some people, it's apparently not enough times.

When Scott Walker enacted his budgets and his policies, he took money away from the people, and out of circulation, to give to his wealth campaign contributors, most of whom come from other states. Because their money was taken away, people are forced to cut back on their spending, and among the first things to be cut are things like going to movies, going out to eat, etc. And when people stop spending on these niceties, the businesses like theaters and restaurants suffer.

Case in point (emphasis mine):
Fila Bene Ristorante Italiano in Mequon has closed, according to the restaurant’s outgoing voicemail message.

“Today is a sad yet hopeful day,” partner Angelo Vasta said in the message.
He said the restaurant closed because it didn’t have enough customers to support the cost of operations. But he’s hopeful about his next step.
And the beat(ings) go on...

  1. Of course, that about 9 out of 10 restaurants fail and that many of the reasons why they fail is because of the owner.
Thanks for making us smarter capper.

    1. Y'know, Dan, the fact that this is the 125th part of this series should give you an inclination that maybe it's just not restaurants being closed. And what do you propose, the owner force people to spend their mortgage at his restaurant?

Thanks for showing us you really are that idiotic.

  2. I would think Mequon would be a good location for a restaurant, and much less likely to fail than most restaurants on average.

Then again, all the fast food corporate restaurants with their drive-thru lanes offer meals ready to go at a cheaper price.

One should consider that maybe the authentic Italian angle is something that the Olive Garden can do, too.

And thus, the truly authentic Italian is branded, franchised, and carbon-copied around anchor locations around the country.

On the subject of the larger world view, everyone should question whether or not the Olive Garden gets to reap a larger percentage of Walker-tax benefits to the detriment of restaurants such as Fila Bene Ristorante Italiano.

Of course, a person investigating this would have to know how a mutli-state company moves its wealth in between states, and works state liabilities against one another, to their benefit.

The local location, owned by a community member, simply cannot compete, for one.

And if your anything but white, most people in middle class white Mequon could care less.
