The Walker Budget Keeps On Working! Part CXII

Even in the midst of the recall, Scott Walker's budget and policies kept on doing what we knew they would, killing jobs:

Shorehaven Behavioral Health Inc., a mental health outpatient clinic whose main location is in Brown Deer, informed the state Department of Workforce Development (DWD) that it plans to lay off dozens of employees.

Shorehaven said its “largest account” has decided to stop funding a program which helps pay for the wages of 71 in-home service employees of Shorehaven. The funding will cease on Aug. 1.

“We are taking aggressive measures to preserve as many of these jobs as we possibly can,” Shorehaven president Don Rosenberg said in a letter to the DWD. “We are estimating that 35 of 71 full-time jobs may be saved. We may be able to offer part-time work for some but as many as 30 could be laid off completely. Additionally, we cannot predict whether this may be a temporary reduction or a permanent one.”

Shorehaven has a total of 122 employees.

“The entire company is not closing,” Rosenberg said.

Almost all of the employees who will be laid off are mental health professionals.
“This is a terribly difficult time for our company and we have extremely heavy hearts regarding this matter,” Rosenberg said.
