Today, we learn of the fourth candidate that is running to try to sabotage the enforcement of the will of the people. This person is named Tamra Varebrook and she will be running interference for Rep. Van Wanggaard (oh, and do I have something to tell you about that putz!).
The news comes from the Racine Journal Times and their report has two glaring examples of how the Republicans aren't even bothering to hid their loathing and disrespect of the people and the democratic process:
The first comes straight from the elephant's mouth:
Tamra Varebrook filed her campaign registration statement Friday with the Government Accountability Board, according to online records.
Ben Sparks, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin, verified Monday that Varebrook is a “protest candidate” who the party asked to run.The other example came from the other end of the elephant:
When The Journal Times stopped by Varebrook’s house Monday there was a sign supporting Wanggaard in the yard and a friend at the house, Aubrey Willms, verified it was Varebrook’s house and that she was running in the upcoming state Senate race.
Justin Phillips, Wanggaard’s campaign manager, said the Wanggaard campaign was not affiliated with any effort to solicit someone to run in the primary.
In a previous story in January, The Journal Times had interviewed a Tamra Varebrook, who was at the Racine County GOP Victory Center in Mount Pleasant reviewing recall signatures. Willms said that was the same Varebrook. As I said in my previous post, this only is one more example of how the Republicans not only hate democracy, they also have no respect at all for the people.
