Scott Walker: Hero Of The Tax Payer?

Hardly. He only played us for chumps.

But what's a couple of million of squandered tax payer dollars to him?

  1. How about linking to a source that isn't another one of your blogs?

  2. We all have to pay our share in private industry. The public employees should be doing the same.

  3. I like the name of your blog. I'm a Wisconsin teacher (tech college), and I struggle very much with this whole bill. I agree that we need to pay our share of health insurance and our retirement; that shouldn't be the responsibility of everyone else in the state. So, in that sense, I am very much in favor of putting myself on a level playing field with the rest of the working class. I also have a hard time defending the senators who fled the state to gain national attention.

But, at the same time, how can I defend the other senators who wanted to rush this through without much discussion from the other side. I realize that is the way American politics has worked in recent years, but that doesn't make it right.

I've worked in states with and without unions. There isn't a significant difference either way, except that performance is irrelevant when you're in a union.

  4. When a democrat vows to put unions first, he violates his duty to put the electorate first. This is true because to give the unions whatever they want, is to take from the taxpayers whatever is necessary.
