Walker Blames Others For His Ineptitude

Last night, I told you about how Scott Walker got his Twitter account suspended due to violating the terms of service. At the time, I said I thought it had something to do with all the spam he had on his site.

Today, he is still tweetless. Hilariously, he is blaming it on unknown, sinister "opposition to his movement."

However, in the comments of the JSOnline piece, some endeavoring commenter points out the simple truth, which also backs up my spam theory:
Walker keeps blaming the “opposition,” but this time he’s been caught red handed… by Google.

September 27, 2009 – Scott Walker is following 4,862 users, and is being followed by 4,420 users.

October 3, 2009 – Scott Walker is following 3,614 users, and is being followed by 4,556 users.

This means that over the course of one week, WALKER added, then unfollowed 1248 users, and gained 136.

It’s impossible for someone to suggest that isn’t a violation of the Twitter TOS. Keep blaming the left Scott… you don’t need us to take you down.
On a more serious note, Harris Kane does have a very good question for us:

If Scott Walker can't run a twitter account what makes anyone believe he can run Wisconsin?

  1. And you wonder why nobody takes this blog seriously.

Do yourself a favor, write something of worth rather than chasing a twitter account that nobody important cares about.

Seriously, do you think a statewide audience cares about a tweet-off?

  2. Don't worry, Aaron,

Walker is an endless source of ineptitude and corruption. There is enough to keep us all busy for a long, long time.

  3. If that is true, then why are you targeting an area that's largely inconsequential?

You're making yourself look petty. I never figured out why you spend so much time on one man. Anyone that spends some time on your blog gets the impression that your focus on Walker is, well, bizarre.

Sadly, 99% of what you say is wrong. You would think that a county employee might be a little more accurate on issues of Milwaukee, but then again, you just believe what your union says to believe.

  4. You always claim I am wrong, but never prove it. You just settle for personal attacks. That is why no one really pays any attention to you anymore.

  5. The hit volume on my site says otherwise.

And also, instead of taking it as a personal attack, take it as constructive criticism about how you can turn your site into something better. Create something that people want to read, not this petty "gotcha" crap.

  6. I'm doing fine at all my sites as well, thanks anyway. Not only quantity, but quality.

And for the "gotcha" stuff, you better go after the paper too, since it looks like it will be in the morning's paper. And not by Steve Schultze either. Now you'll have to come up with something new.

  7. Are talking about the piece from Durhams? I wouldn't waste my time with that.

You do realize that most people have no idea what Twitter is.

  8. Also, Durham's story will probably bring more followers to Walker's Twitter account than if the story weren't run at all. Walker wins either way.

  9. So which is it, are people either too stupid to know what Twitter is, or or they going to rush out to follow an account that doesn't exist?

Nice of you to insult the voters that way.

  10. Well look, Walker is now back up on Twitter... but pay attention to his stats real quick (grab screenshots).

He claimed that a bunch of people followed, then unfollowed him, but it looks like his number of followers has actually increased.

What's gone down, however, as indicated in your post, is in fact the number of people he is following.

What is even funnier... the people that he is following. Japan, Argentina... and just about every other state in the union. Get the screen shots, as I'm sure they'll be trying to cover their tracks soon enough.

  11. A twit on twitter that's our boy Walker alright; I graduated from college and know a bit about computers. They will not tolerate irrational or illogical entries into their systems. All that blather from mister walkers political (B.M.) movement must have short circuited the thing.

  12. Capper,

You need to stop putting words into my mouth. I didn't say that people didn't know what Twitter was because they are too stupid. There are a lot of reasons why people aren't familiar with Twitter. For starters, it's somewhat of a generational thing. Other people just don't use the internet.

Either way, running stories like that in the journal sentinel will only peak a person's curiosity and make them more likely to follow Walker. I'm surprised you didn't accuse him of making it all up in order to get more followers.

  13. Looks like you're wrong again. The evidence shows that Walker did it to himself, only to gain attention. His gain was minimal at best.

And Aaron, if you can't take it, don't dish it out.
