One Answer In, More Questions Arise

Out of the three emails I sent out yesterday regarding the MCF post asking if the County sponsored the AFP Tea Party Rally, I received one reply.

Unfortunately, it raised more questions than it answered, but that is to be expected since the reply came from Walker's office. They do love to confabulate there.

Besides the questions raised in that one post, there are a couple of other observations.

Asking the question sure stirred up a couple of hornet nests, including the Walker-fansite and Badger Blogger, who can't tell official logos from mock ups. [Oh, and Bruce, the word is Whallah! ;)] Even Fred "Watermelon seeds" Dooley had to chime up.

Quite a bit of attention for a group that was "never going to get off the ground."

The other observation is that that Walker-fansite must have amazing timing. They posted their blog only 12 minutes after the email hit MCF's inbox. It must be amazing timing, because whoever heard of Walker's office colluding with anyone? Right?

  1. I've never heard of an ORR being processed so fast in my life. "Colluding"...I think that may be the tip of the iceberg.

  2. MCF was also sponsored by a Milwaukee County Transit System bus and a famous Dorothea Lange photograph.

  3. Crapper, what is the difference between a "mock up" and the "official logo"? You ripped off the Milwaukee County Parks logo, plain and simple. Just admit it and move on. I can "mock up" a golden arches M and get my pants sued off even if a call it a "mock up" so your argument falls apart.

And maybe, just maybe, they provided the FOI request because you were craptacularly wrong and it was a slam dunk.

  4. Yes, Chris, that's "quite a bit of attention," alright. We got you an extra signature on your petition. You're well on your way to 75 signers. Clearly, a "thank you" is in order.

And as far as not being able to tell a "mock-up from an actual logo," here's a little side-by-side, courtesy of Patrick Dorwin. I'll let viewers judge with their own eyes, and formulate their own opinion on that one.

  5. Bruce, can you confirm the IP addresses of posts that Capper says he didn't make, versus ones he said he did make? Do they all match?

If County Park logos aren't to be used by anyone for political purposes, then both MCF and AFP were in the wrong, right?

  6. u could probably do an open records request to find out what e-mail addresses the response was sent to. would be a clue as to ID of walker site authors.

  7. Great idea anonymous...or you could look at the header on our blog and see the email address: ScottForGov@gmail.com, send us a note sometime.

Thanks for the link Capper. A little disappointed in the traffic though. I had hundreds of hits from Badger blogger...but only 4 from your site. Wonder why that would be.

  8. That's odd. BB only brought about 50 or so extra hits here.

Sykes the backpedaler (I like the way he is leaving Bruce to hang) only a handful.

    Your site: 0

  9. Well, that could be because I don't link to you. Just a guess.

  10. ok then, maybe open records on e-mail addresses that requested the response, to see if there was a request or if walker sent it unprompted

and if u emailed ur request then long headers are public record too. u might think that doesn't matter for web-based mail, but you'd be wrong.
