Every Life Is Sacred...

...until it is born:
After a nine-year investigation, a commission published a damning report Wednesday on decades of rapes, humiliation and beatings at Catholic Church-run reform schools for Ireland's castaway children.

The 2,600-page report painted the most detailed and damning portrait yet of church-administered abuse in a country grown weary of revelations about child molestation by priests.

The investigation of the tax-supported schools uncovered previously secret Vatican records that demonstrated church knowledge of pedophiles in their ranks all the way back to the 1930s.

Wednesday's five-volume report on the probe — which was resisted by Catholic religious orders — concluded that church officials shielded their orders' pedophiles from arrest amid a culture of self-serving secrecy.

And I thought Weakland was the lowest of the low. The Church knew of the pedophiles in its ranks for 80 years and did nothing?

  1. Typical anti-christ baloney. I can GUARANTEE that without looking it up, you don't even know what the real definition of "The Church" is. Yet you will accuse it of atrocities and mismanagement.

You should understand the terms you use before you apply them in public.

  2. I do agree that Weakland was a poor excuse for a bishop. I hope he finds forgiveness in the Lord, because it doesn't look like he will find any in this life.

  3. Two points:

    1) Child abuse and molestation is wrong, no matter who does it. The article plainly states that there were Vatican records of their knowledge, making them culpable.

    2) Ironic that you have the name of a Greek god, but are defending a man-made institute to worship a completely different deity.

  4. First of all my real name is JESUS, so by using a fake god's name like Zeus is actually an act of humility. Seriously though, the reason why my nickname is Zeus is because of white folks like you, who cannot seem to pronounce Jesus (he-sues) but instead say "Hay-zeus".

    True story.

Second, like I said before, do you even know the proper relationship of "the Vatican" as it relates to "The Church"?

It's doubtful and the reason why I am calling you out on it. You (along with the rest of the idiotic media) don't have the first clue to understanding the ecclesiology and theological nature of the Church and it's leadership.

Just quit while you're behind trust me!

  5. Well, considering you threw a widely inaccurate racial insult at me, I do believe that you are all bluster and no basis.

But the point is, members of the Church knew about it, and did nothing but try to cover it up. That is indefensible, no matter how much bluster you put out there.

  6. You shouldn't make a comment about my name if you don't want to hear the truth, but it doesn't change the fact that you are a typical clueless anti-catholic.

So are you suggesting that an entire religion or Church should be judged by the actions of some of it's members?

  7. The point is I am much more fluent in other cultures than you apparently are giving me credit for. As for being anti-Catholic, that is a topic for a long chat at another time and another place.

You are free to practice what you want, as long as you don't try to enforce your beliefs on others.

But given the rampant problems around the world and spanning decades, it should give one pause for wonder and introspection, if they were objective, that is.

  8. You are actually starting to speak more reasonably. I respect dissension, I just don't respect manipulation and misinformation. I can understand the issues that individuals have with members of the Catholic Church, but to make blanket statements about "The Church" because some in the Vatican made a mistake is not reasonable of factual.

    Enjoy your vacation.

  9. BTW, since I don't agree with Obama's belief's on taxes should I have to pay the extra taxes that he is suggesting I pay?

To say that people shouldn't force their "beliefs" on other people is a ridiculous argument since it is what is at the very heart of a SOCIETY.
