TMI's TMI Problem

There's a new force of greed and ineptitude that has recently surfaced it's ugly head.

Cory Liebmann has been doing the yeoman's work in uncovering this nefarious group, which calls themselves the MacIver Institute. But unlike the MacGyver we all grew up with, who was a hero, this group is the result of duct tape and used swabs gone bad.

Cory first uncovered the group last week. Shortly afterwards, and by shortly, I mean only hours, they revealed themselves through a press release.

Then Cory continued with his investigation work and found that the group has a who's who of dirty politics, including Scott Jensen, who was convicted for campaign violations before having the ruling overturned on a technicality. We are still waiting for Jensen to run through his tricks for obstructing justice.

Another member of this group is Mark Block, who ran the Wilcox campaign, broke the law and had to pay a hefty fine and drop out of politicking for several years.

One Wisconsin Now continued with Cory's work revealing another shady character that belongs to the group, a Jim Troupis.

Team MacGyver then tried to deny Scott Jensen's affiliation with the group. Would these fellows, with a history of corruption and deceit lie to us? Of course, they would! Cory found that the first couple of press releases, as well as the powerpoint at the group's website, were all authored by Jensen himself.

If you don't want to believe Cory, Jay Bullock knows the meaning of a good show and tell by giving us the show part of it with a screencap of the properties, showing Jensen to be the author.

To add to the unintended humor this gang of backroom wheelers and dealers have given us, in a set up that one would expect from a slapstick comedy, they have attained the services of a blogger who thinks that the boss should be in jail.

Don't get me wrong. This group could cause serious damage to our society if left to go unchecked, but there is a certain aura about them that does make it difficult to take them seriously. Instead of being like MacGyver, they are more like MacGyver's cat.
